The Academy is an online education platform that builds upon The Art Business Conference’s decade-long legacy and has been developed in partnership with Marc Spiegler, former global director of Art Basel and a longtime visiting professor at Università Bocconi in Milan, one of Europe’s leading business schools.

FOUNDERS
MARC SPIEGLER
Cultural Strategist
Having led Art Basel from 2007 to 2022, Marc Spiegler now works on a portfolio of cultural-strategy projects. He is President of the Board of Directors of Superblue and the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the future UBS Digital Art Museum in Hamburg. He works with the Luma Foundation on long-term strategic issues, and serves on the boards of the ArtTech and Art Explora foundations. In addition to working with companies such as Prada Group, KEF Audio and Sanlorenzo in developing cultural strategies, Spiegler has long been a Visiting Professor in cultural management at Università Bocconi in Milan.
LOUISE HAMLIN
Founder, Art Market Minds
Louise is a Courtauld Institute graduate with over a decade of experience as Head of Sales at The Art Newspaper. In 2014, she founded her own events organisation, launching conferences in London, New York, Shanghai, Cape Town, TEFAF Maastricht and Hong Kong. The Art Business Conferences have become a firm fixture in the annual art world calendars, educating on the dynamics of the art market and convening all sectors of the art world community. In 2024, the company was acquired by the French cultural investment fund ArtNova, and The Art Business Conference now also takes place annually in Paris.
