I had the chance to attend Marc Spiegler’s 12-hour deep dive on "Understanding Today’s Art World" in February, which was very inspiring! The course provided a clear perspective on the market’s evolution, key players, and new business models. The exploration of the Art Market Report and the analysis of digital trends, AI, and immersive experiences offered very interesting insights into both today's art world and its future evolution.Lastly, the diversity of attendees was a great reminder of the truly global nature of the art world.
The main reason why I wanted to take the course was to better understand how the art market has evolved in the past years in particular understand current impact including next generation dynamics changes, artificial intelligence/technology and vision in this spectrum, philanthropy, and even geopolitical aspects. To highlight a few of aspects I enjoyed in the course “Understanding today’s art world” held in the month of February 2025.I. Data:
- Live data and graphs “summary” explanation: this will help me to use similar thought process when analyzing data.
- A lot of useful and succinct information presented dynamically in only two-hour format. I left each session ready to continue for more hours and that in today's world is hard to achieve.
II. Class structure:
- My questions were answered either live or in the upcoming sessions. Follow-up/minutes after each course were the best I have seen post calls.
- Enjoyed the team interaction in chats and further reading materials. Believe would be good to meet similar minded people all over the world.
III. Looking forwardI very much look forward to recommend this and future courses. I believe they will impact any person that wanted to better understand the art market dynamics regardless of previous art market experience/education.Liked the idea about the upcoming in person courses worldwide and in particular the “Cultural Catalyst Program” since it adds a challenge to a team and will have the opportunity to create measurable impact in the community.
I believe it’s important to follow not just knowledge, but the person – and the scale of thinking they share. In my experience, that kind of Marc's mindset was contagious. "Not just a fair in a hall, but an event in the city" – completely upgrade my idea of one project I'm working on right now. The night before my call with the client I reworked my presentation and the next morning I pitched it in a new scale. And now we’re in the process of discussing the start of a side-project (so those €900 investment back to me fast)
I was in the first group to attend the course “Understanding Today’s Art World” with Marc Spiegler and his wonderful team (Art Market Minds: The Academy) and I believe my understanding of the art world has indeed improved because of attending. I already knew of Marc many years ago when he was writing articles on the art world and some of his articles created a buzz in Chelsea, New York and were discussed in galleries. Marc Spiegler is an art expert’s expert, and I greatly appreciate that he was willing to share some of his profound art market knowledge with us in this course. In fact, he never once hesitated to spend extra time with our group and the conversations and question/answer time was allowed to go on almost indefinitely at the end of each session. The group was made up of art dealers, art consultants, gallery owners, to name only a few, and this proved to be an excellent atmosphere for professional networking.Marc and his team put on a highly polished and professional course that covered the traditional gallery scene, art fairs, auctions and current (and possible future) art world trends. Charts and graphs are usually not a favorite, but Marc’s charts and graphs were outstanding and were full of insightful information and we never wanted him to stop sharing them. All the sessions were intense and filled with profound insights and information and I never wanted them to end! Marc and his team also prompted us to do our own investigations as well as intense reading in-between sessions.Art, to remain relevant to the cultural heritage of the world, must be a living art and growth and change are inevitable constants in life. No one reads the pulse on the changes and growth in the art world and art market as does Marc Spiegler at Art Market Minds.
Fascinating course! Marc Spiegler shared his knowledge and experience of the current artworld in a useful and understandable way - pertinent, prescient and succinct. I found it engaging, motivational and inspired my journey further in the Art World. Art Market Minds course is a must for all players in the current art market
Thank you for the great classes—very informative and eye-opening. Thank you so much for today's session; I loved it! What I really appreciate is the use of real-world situations and data. It's about the actual market, not just storytelling to drive sales.
Thank you very much, Marc Spiegler, for these sessions. They were very insightful, and I’m looking forward to more initiatives from you and Art Academy. It was anything but boring and truly enlightening. The numbers really help in understanding the mechanics of the art market, especially for someone uninitiated like myself.
